Seventh Australian Poetry Festival

The Poets Union will be hosting the 7th Australian Poetry Festival this September, including poetry readings and the Judith Wright Memorial Lecture. The festival opens Friday the 3rd of September and continues until Sunday the 5th of September, with the main events taking place in Kings Cross.

This years theme is Inventing the Tradition, and the Judith Wright Memorial lecture will be delivered by Chris Wallace-Crabbe. Chris is one of Australia’s most respected poets and academics. He is also Chair of the Australian Poetry Centre and Interim Co-Chair of Australian Poetry.

Papers from the festival will be published in a special edition of Five Bells towards the end of the year.
