Kathleen Stewart is a professor of anthropology at the University of Texas, Austin. In 2009 she
was appointed an Honorary Professor at the University of Technology Sydney, and has
previously been a visiting scholar to Harvard amongst other notable universities. Stewart has
published two ethnographic ficto-critical works, A Space On The Side Of The Road: Cultural
Poetics in an ‘Other’ America’ (1996) and ‘Ordinary Affects’ (2007), and is preparing to publish
her third, ‘Atmospheric Attunements’.
